Mission:

The Mission of Food and Sustainable Transformation (FAST) is a United Nations initiative of Mount Carmel Helps Inc. designed to accelerate progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger, by transforming global food systems to be more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable in the community.

The Food and Sustainable Transformation (FAST) initiative is aligned with SDG 2: Zero Hunger in the community to:

• End hunger

• Achieve food security

• Improve nutrition

• Promote sustainable feeding

FAST is a coordinated community effort to ensure better outreach and nutrition, better healthy living and wellbeing, and sustainable transformation to support humanity in the community.

The hunger crisis is a spiritual and moral emergency. From rural villages to urban slums, the cry for nourishment echoes across borders. And yet, amid scarcity, the Mount Carmel Helps Inc. launched a bold mission: FAST—Food and Sustainable Transformation, a community initiative to fulfill the United Nations SDG 2: Zero Hunger. FAST is a Mount Carmel Helps Inc. prophetic call fulfilling movement of mercy and a covenant of justice.

Objectives of FAST

FAST work to transform feeding and nutrition systems for community wellbeing and sustainability FAST accelerate community pathways through technical assistance, policy alignment, community feeding outreach and investment mobilization.

FAST integrates nutrition and food security to address malnutrition in all its forms including undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, obesity and promotes diverse, affordable, and culturally appropriate diets.

FAST foster inclusive governance engaging civil society, indigenous peoples, youth, and private sector in decision-making to ensure food systems are rights-based and gender-responsive.

FAST align with the United Nations SDG 2, Paris Agreement and climate-smart agriculture strategies to reduce food loss and waste, and lower greenhouse gas emissions from food production.
